Other than the above, but not suitable for the Qiita community (violation of guidelines) @okamotdmc. Updated at 2019-08-12. Mblock3: avrdude: stk500recv: programmer is not responding. Arduino mBlock stk500. More than 1 year has passed since last update.
- Mar 19, 2014 Thanks, switching to ATmega328P (Old Bootloader) had helped me to solve stk500recv: programmer is not responding stk500getsync attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x79 problem. Actually, I have a feeling that before I was using older version of GUI which had this option by default. – dmak Aug 7 '19 at 22:13.
- Avrdude: stk500recv: programmer is not responding The EtherTen combines an Uno-equivalent Arduino-compatible board and Wiznet-based Ethernet support, along with a microSD card slot and Power-over-Ethernet support.
I purchased arduino nano 3.0. If I am not mistaken, it comes with the bootloader so that I can use USB-Serial port to program it. The board is detected correctly as USB-Serial CH340 (COM20). Accordingly, I tried to program it in Atmel studio with AVRdude. My arguments to avrdude is
-C'C:Atmegaprogrammersavrdudeavrdude.conf' -pm328p -carduino -PCOM20 -b115200 -Uflash:w:'$(ProjectDir)Debug$(TargetName).hex':i
I get the following error message:
avrdude.exe: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
avrdude.exe: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x55
But the same argument works fine if used with Uno rev3.
What change I need to do to command line argument in case it is not correct? I am not sure if something wrong with -carduino option!!

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.
This USB cable worked for the other 3 Arduino Unos and I am using the same USB port as the other 3. I checked device manager and I am using the correct COM port.
I found this forum post about someone with the same symptoms:
http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=37432&p=184840
I have tried the following to try and resolve the issue:
-New USB Port
Avrdude: Stk500_recv(): Programmer Is Not Responding Linux
-New USB Cable-Rebooting Computer
-Reinstalling the Driver
Avrdude: Stk500_recv(): Programmer Is Not Responding Avrdude: Stk500_getsync()
-Pressing the Reset Button
-Check selected board in IDE
-Try multiple sketches
At this point I am not sure what else to do because this is the only one not working out of the 4. Any help would be appreciated.
